Interferon (IFN)-stimulated genes 15 (ISG15) gene encodes a ubiquitin-like protein. This protein is observed majorly in eukaryotes of higher order organization. The ISG15 gene is mapped to human chromosome 1p36.33.
Synonyms: Anti-Interferon-induced 17 kDa protein precursor antibody produced in rabbit
Storage: -20C
Application: Anti-ISG15 antibody produced in rabbit has been used in immunohistochemistry.
Biochem Physiol Actions: Interferon (IFN)-stimulated genes 15 (Isg15) exists as functionally active protein when unconjugated as well as conjugated to the target protein. It is involved in various biophysiological actions such as protein translation, DNA repair and immune modulation. ISG15 is also associated with autophagy and exosome secretion. This gene is found to be upregulated in systemic lupus erythematosus.
