Biochem Physiol Actions: GLI1 is a family of zinc finger transcription factors that mediate the effects of Hedgehog pathway. The activation of GLI1 is the effect of the binding of Shh ligand to receptor PTCH. GLI1 has been observed to be overexpressed in glioblastoma and induces the genes involved in tumor development and progression.
