The gene ACRC (acidic repeat containing) is mapped to human chromosome Xq13.1 and contains at least 12 exons and 11 introns. It contains a characteristic acidic repeat region of 21 units of 8-10 amino acids. It is expressed ubiquitously, including skeletal muscle, liver, kidney, pancreas, heart, lung, and brain, with the highest expression in skeletal muscle.
Synonyms: ACRC; NAAR1
Storage: -20C
Application: All Prestige Antibodies(R)Powered by Atlas Antibodies is developed and validated by the Human Protein Atlas (HPA) project (www.proteinatlas.org). Each antibody is tested by immunohistochemistry against hundreds of normal and disease tissues. These images can be viewed on the Human Protein Atlas (HPA) site by clicking on the Image Gallery link. To view these protocols and other useful information about Prestige Antibodies and the HPA, visit sigma.com/prestige. Anti-ACRC antibody produced in rabbit has been used for immunohistochemistry study.
Biochem Physiol Actions: The gene ACRC (acidic repeat containing) is localized on a critical region that harbors the disease locus for X-linked dystonia parkinsonism (XDP). However, mutation analysis in this gene does not implicate it in the disease.
