Frizzled class receptor 8 (FZD8) belongs to the frizzled family of receptors and encodes a wingless/integrase-1 (WNT) receptor. It consists of frizzled like cysteine-rich domain, seven transmembrane domains, and a C-terminal Ser/Thr-X-Val motif. The protein is expressed in brain, kidney, heart, pancreas and skeletal muscle. The gene is located on human chromosome 10p11.21. It is a cancer associated gene.
Synonyms: Anti-Frizzled homolog 8 (Drosophila)
Storage: -20C
Application: Anti-FZD8 antibody produced in rabbit has been used in immunohistochemistry and western blotting.
Biochem Physiol Actions: Frizzled class receptor 8 (FZD8) plays an important role in airway inflammation linked to chronic bronchitis. Downregulation of this protein is related to microRNA-520b (miR-520b) inhibited cell proliferation, migration, and invasion of spinal osteosarcoma cells. It functions as a potential therapeutic target for prostate cancer bone metastasis. The protein activates ß-catenin-TCF pathway and is important in several tumors.
