Fibroblast growth factor-19 (FGF-19) is an ileum-derived polypeptide hormone and a high affinity heparin-dependent ligand for fibroblast growth factor receptor 4 (FGFR4). It is part of the hormone-like FGF family. The gene encoding FGF-19 is localized on human chromosome 11q13.3.
Synonyms: Anti-Fibroblast growth factor 19
Storage: -20C
Application: Anti-FGF19 antibody produced in rabbit has been used for western blotting.
Biochem Physiol Actions: Fibroblast growth factor-19 (FGF-19) is involved in the gut-liver signaling pathway and modulation of bile acid synthesis. Once secreted, it binds to the hepatic fibroblast growth factor receptor 4 (FGFR4)/Klotho-ß cell-surface receptor complex and activates it. FGF-19 promotes glycogen synthesis, protein synthesis and lipid metabolism.
