Synonyms: Anti-Fibulin-1 precursor antibody produced in rabbit
Storage: -20C
Application: Anti-FBLN1 antibody produced in rabbit, a Prestige Antibody, is developed and validated by the Human Protein Atlas (HPA) project (www.proteinatlas.org). Each antibody is tested by immunohistochemistry against hundreds of normal and disease tissues. These images can be viewed on the Human Protein Atlas (HPA) site by clicking on the Image Gallery link. The antibodies are also tested using immunofluorescence and western blotting. To view these protocols and other useful information about Prestige Antibodies and the HPA, visit sigma.com/prestige.
Biochem Physiol Actions: FBLN1 (fibulin 1) gene encodes an extracellular matrix and plasma protein that is rich in cysteine and binds to calcium. Alternative splicing of this protein produces four isoforms, A-D. It is found to be associated with fibronectin (FN). It inhibits the ability of FN to promote cell adhesion and motility by suppressing the activation of extracellular signal regulated kinase (ERK) and phosphorylation of myosin heavy chain. By inhibiting cell motility, it acts as a suppressor of tumor invasion. It serves as a potential marker for renal impairment.
