4E-BP3 (eIF4E-binding protein 3) belongs to the eukaryotic initiation factor 4E-binding protein family. It has three exons (A, B and C) and two introns. 4E-BP3 is expressed at high level in the liver than in kidney. This gene is mapped to human chromosome 5q31.3.
Synonyms: Anti-4E-BP3; Anti-Eukaryotic Translation Initiation Factor 4E Binding Protein 3
Storage: -20C
Biochem Physiol Actions: 4E-BP3 (eIF4E-binding protein 3) modulates nuclear mRNA export, mediated by eIF4E and communicates with replication protein A2. Overexpression of 4E-BP3 decreases eIF4E-dependent translation. 4E-BP3 is a heat stable protein that has the ability to connect to eIF4E in vitro and in vivo.
