General description: Cytochrome P450 family 26 subfamily A member 1 (CYP26A1) is encoded by the gene mapped to human chromosome 10q23.33.
Biochem/physiol Actions: Cytochrome P450 family 26 subfamily A member 1 (CYP26A1) is a retinoic acid (RA) degrading enzyme. It plays a vital role in RA metabolism. CYP26A1 has an essential role in the correct anteroposterior patterning and the generation of migratory cranial neural crest cells in the developing mammalian brain. Mutations in the gene is associated with the pathogenesis of optic nerve aplasia (ONA).
Immunogen: CYP26A1 (NP_000774, 123-157)This antibody is generated from rabbits immunized with a KLH conjugated synthetic peptide selected from the center region of human CYP26A1.
Physical form: Purified polyclonal antibody supplied in PBS with 0.09% (W/V) sodium azide.
RIDADR: NONH for all modes of transport
