CUGBP2 (ETR-3/NAPOR/BRUNOL3) is an RNA-binding protein, posttranscriptional controller of gene expression, that regulates key cellular responses such as apoptosis by binding to AU-rich sequences in the mRNA of important genes such as COX-2 and VEGF. CUGBP2 is a critical regulator of the apoptotic response to genotoxic injury in breast cancer cells and mitotic catastrophe response.
Synonyms: Anti-BRUNOL3; Anti-CUG triplet repeat, RNA binding protein 2; Anti-ETR-3; Anti-NAPOR
Storage: -20C
Application: Anti-CUGBP2 polyclonal antibody is used to tag RNA binding protein 2 proteins for detection and quantitation by Western blotting and in cells and tissues by immunohistochemical (IHC) techniques. It is used as a probe to study the role of RNA binding protein 2 in the regulation of posttranslational gene transcription in response to gentotoxic injury.
Biochem Physiol Actions: Members of the CELF/BRUNOL protein family contain two N-terminal RNA recognition motif (RRM) domains, one C-terminal RRM domain, and a divergent segment of 160-230 aa between the second and third RRM domains. Members of this protein family regulate pre-mRNA alternative splicing and may also be involved in mRNA editing, and translation. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms.
