CTCFL (CCCTC-binding factor (zinc finger protein)-like) gene encodes a protein that is expressed specifically by testis. It is a paralog of CTCF, a DNA binding protein, but varying in amino and carboxy termini. It is expressed in a mutually exclusive manner with CTCF during male germ cell development.
Synonyms: Anti-Brother of the regulator of imprinted sites antibody produced in rabbit; Anti-CCCTC-binding factor antibody produced in rabbit; Anti-CTCF paralog antibody produced in rabbit; Anti-Transcriptional repressor CTCFL antibody produced in rabbit; Anti-Zinc finger protein CTCF-T antibody produced in rabbit
Storage: -20C
Application: Anti-CTCFL antibody produced in rabbit, a Prestige Antibody, is developed and validated by the Human Protein Atlas (HPA) project (www.proteinatlas.org). Each antibody is tested by immunohistochemistry against hundreds of normal and disease tissues. These images can be viewed on the Human Protein Atlas (HPA) site by clicking on the Image Gallery link. The antibodies are also tested using immunofluorescence and western blotting. To view these protocols and other useful information about Prestige Antibodies and the HPA, visit sigma.com/prestige.
Biochem Physiol Actions: CTCFL (CCCTC-binding factor (zinc finger protein)-like) serves as a potential candidate for the epigenetic reprogramming factor in the male germ line. It is important in chromatin organization and gene expression. DNA methyltransferase 1 and 3B recruit CTCFL protein and regulate histone dimethylation, resulting in the control of BAG-1 (Bcl-2-binding protein) expression.
