G2/mitotic-specific cyclin-B1 (CCNB1), also known as cyclin B1, regulates cell division in eukaryotes. It has N-terminal and C-terminal cyclin box motifs. CCNB1 is located on human chromosome 5q13.

Biochem Physiol Actions: Cyclin B1 (CCNB1) interacts with cyclin B1-associated kinase (Cdk1) and coordinates mitotic cycle events. CCNB1 is crucial for maintenance of cell division and arrest in the presence of antineoplastic agents. It is highly expressed in breast and small cell lung cancer. CCNB1 may play a key role in pathogenesis of pituitary adenomas.
