Rabbit anti-beta-amyloid (22-35) antibody specifically recognizes beta-amyloid (22-35), beta-amyloid (25-35), beta-amyloid (1-40) and beta-amyloid (1-42) and does not react with beta-amyloid (32-35) and beta-amyloid (35-25) by ELISA. The antibody detects beta-amyloid (1-40) by immunoblotting (approx. 4kDa). Staining of the beta-amyloid (1-40) band in immunoblotting is specifically inhibited by the immunizing peptide.
Synonyms: Anti-A4 Amyloid protein; Anti-ABETA; Anti-ABPP; Anti-AD1; Anti-APPI; Anti-Amyloid beta A4 protein; Anti-Amyloid-beta protein (ABP)
Storage: -20C
Application: Rabbit anti-beta-amyloid (22-35) antibody can be used for ELISA at a concentration of 0.2-0.4mug/mL using beta-amyloid peptide (22-35). The product can also be used for western blot at 0.25-0.5mug/mL using beta-amyloid peptide (1-40).
Biochem Physiol Actions: Secreted Aß lead to synaptic and neuritic compromise and glial activation. Aggregates of amyloid ß peptide are found deposited in the brains of Alzheimer's patients. Aß(25-35) and Aß(22-35) fragments are highly toxic segments of ß-amyloid peptides that promote inflammatory processes in astrocytes and fibrillary aggregation of Aß, thus representing a promising therapeutic target for Alzheimer's.
