AKT serine/threonine kinase 3 (AKT3) is part of the protein kinase B family. It has a kinase domain, a pleckstrin homology domain and a regulatory domain. The protein consists of 479 amino acids and the gene encoding it is localized on human chromosome 1q44.

Application: All Prestige Antibodies(R)Powered by Atlas Antibodies is developed and validated by the Human Protein Atlas (HPA) project (www.proteinatlas.org). Each antibody is tested by immunohistochemistry against hundreds of normal and disease tissues. These images can be viewed on the Human Protein Atlas (HPA) site by clicking on the Image Gallery link. Biochem Physiol Actions: AKT serine/threonine kinase 3 (AKT3) has a role in DNA repair and brain development. In mouse model, it modulates the expression of estrogen receptor a, Erb-B2 receptor tyrosine kinase 2 and Erb-B2 receptor tyrosine kinase 3 in breast cancer cells. AKT3 has been shown to stimulate the growth of triple-negative breast cancer.
