Anastrozole

A third generation aromatase inhibitor that blocks the conversion of androgens to estrogens in peripheral tissues (IC50 = 15 nM in human placenta in vitro) without interfering with cholesterol, cortisol, or aldosterone biosynthesis; used to treat estrogen receptor-positive breast cancers in post-menopausal women.
