AMPK activator

An indirect activator of AMPK (EC50 = 11.7 μM); stimulates glucose uptake in L6 myocytes and promotes phosphorylation of ACC, a known target of AMPK; decreases blood glucose concentrations in Zucker diabetic rats, demonstrating its utility in whole animals; inhibits the growth of multiple myeloma cells.
