Amitriptyline (hydrochloride)

A first generation tricyclic antidepressant; blocks the serotonin and norepinephrine transporters (Kds = 4.3 and 35 nM, respectively); inhibits 5-HT2A receptor (Ki =20 nM); antagonizes histamine H1, muscarinic acetylcholine, and α1-adrenergic receptors (Kis = 1.1, 18, and 27 nM, respectively).
