An orally active small molecule AdipoR agonist that binds AdipoR1 and AdipoR2 (KDs = 1.8 and 3.1 µM, respectively); at 50 mg/kg, activates AMPK and PPARα pathways and reduces insulin resistance and glucose intolerance in wild type mice fed a high-fat diet as well as in genetically obese db/db mice.
