Application: Acetaldehyde has been used as a reference standard for the determination of acetaldehyde as a volatile constituent of extra virgin olive oil (EVOO) by gas chromatography coupled with ion mobility spectrometry (IMS). It may be used as a reference standard for the detection of acetaldehyde which is formed as a pyrolysis product of tobacco additives and as endogenous aldehyde in human urine by gas chromatography-mass spectrometry technique.
