PBS, phosphate buffered saline, is an isotonic solution used in molecular biology, cell culture, protein chemistry, and biochemical applications.
PBS is nontoxic to cells and has similar osmolarity and ion concentrations as the human body. pH 7.4 is most commonly used with cell culture.
Contains 137 mM sodium chloride, 2.7 mM potassium chloride, 4.3 mM disodium phosphate, 1.4 mM monopotassium phosphate. pH varies by part number.
