BBL™ Coagulase Plasma, Rabbit with EDTA is used to qualitatively determine the pathogenicity of staphylococci using the direct tube method. Coagulase binds plasma fibrinogen, causing the organisms to agglutinate or plasma to clot. When using, test both positive and negative control cultures to check performance of the coagulase plasma.
