A cephalosporin antibiotic with potent in vitro activity against streptococcal species, including S. aureus (IC₅₀ = 2 µg/ml) and penicillin-resistant S. pneumonia and also effective against a wide range of other β-lactamase-producing bacterial species (MIC90s = 0.01 - 130 µg/ml).
