Beta-glucosidase (β-Glu) catalyzes the hydrolysis of the glycosidic bonds to terminal non-reducing residues in beta-D-glucosides and oligosaccharides, with release of glucose. The BioTracker 510 Green β-Glu Dye is permeable through the cell membrane and is fluorescent substrate [9- (4′-methoxy-2′-methylphenyl) -6- (β-D-glucopylanosyloxy) -xanthen-3-one] for detecting β-glucosidase in living cells.
