400,000 KN-95 masks to Africa-based Laboratories

To support scientific communities throughout the global pandemic, Thomas Scientific donated 400,000 KN-95 masks to three incredible laboratories in Africa. As we reflect on the past year and the continuing challenges that lie ahead, it is important that we think about the ways we can use our resources to help those around us. We are grateful to have the opportunity and the resources to contribute to those in need. Thank you to all of those who helped make this happen, especially Seeding Labs for connecting us with these laboratories!

Water at Work Ministry, Inc. (Or “Water@Work”)

Water at Work Ministry provides access to clean, safe water and the Living Water of Jesus to people in the Dominican Republic. They do this by building commercial-scale water purification plants in cooperation with local churches. The church operates the water business to serve the physical needs of the people. They use the profits from the water business to increase their ministry outreach in the community. This outreach includes food distribution, evangelism, children’s activities, and community-wide hygiene education programs.

Our goal is sustainable community development through clean water distribution, capacity creation through business education, creation of employment (up to eight jobs per plant), and empowerment of the local church.

Water at Work Ministry was incorporated in Georgia in 2012 and has a 501(c)3 non-profit status. In addition, Water at Work Ministry established a Dominican non-profit organization, Fundación Water Work, in 2014 to carry out the in-country activities. www.WaterAtWorkMinistry.org

We're very pleased to announce that a total of $7,304 was raised for Water@Work during the month of March 2022! Proceeds are being used to fund their most recent water plant in the Dominican Republic, Agua Brisas, which just opened this April.
