A competitive inhibitor of PC-PLC (Ki = 6.4 µM); also reduces sphingomyelin synthase activity, both in membrane preparations (IC₅₀ = 100 µg/ml) and in cells; has antioxidant, antiviral, and anti-tumor activities.
