A partial agonist of the α4β2 neuronal nicotinic acetylcholine receptor (EC₅₀ = 2.3 µM); shows high selectivity for this receptor subclass relative to other nicotinic receptors, non-nicotinic receptors, and transporters; competes with the binding of nicotine.
