Filters Change Indicators Stickers for Acids, Aromatic diisocyanates, Basic Vapors, Halogens, Hydrazine, Formaldehyde, Hydrogen Sulfide, Mercury and Methyl Ketones.
The Breakthrough (Saturation) indicators Stickers (BTIS) for ductless hood filters are colorimetric indicators that indicate the saturation and exhaustion of filters. The indicators are reliable and cost effect means for protection from exposure to toxic vapors in the work place. They produce bright and vibrant color changes when filters are saturated, hence alerting the user to replace the exhausted filter. Indicators are available for acidic vapors (e.g. acetic acid, hydrochloric acid, hydrofluoric acid, hydrogen bromide, hydrogen chloride, hydrogen iodide, nitric acid, nitrous acid, sulfur dioxide, trichloroacetic acid, and trifloroacetic acid), aromatic diisocyanates (e.g. toluene 2,4-diisocyanate (2,4-TDI), toluene 2,6-diisocyanate (2,6-TDI) and 4,4'-methylene diphenyl aromatic diisocyanates (MDI), basic vapors (e.g. ammonia, aliphatic amines), halogens, hydrazine, hydrogen sulfide, formaldehyde, halogens, mercury.and methyl ketones, acetaldehyde & acrolein. The indicators are easily attached to the outlet of the filter by removing the bottom adhesive protective liner and placing the BTIS on center area of the filter’s outlet. The indicators are highly sensitive to targeted toxic chemicals with first noticeable color changes appear at or below OSHA permissible exposure limits. They operate at temperatures 4°C to 50 - 65°C (39°F to 122 - 149°F) and humidities 5% RH to 85%RH. The BTIS are 0.11 inch thick, 1.25 inch diameter. The unique design of the indicator prevents any color change from exposure to contaminants in the surrounding environment and changes color only when filter is saturated. The indicator has extended service life of 14 months.
