Microplates provide high throughput assay miniaturization in a 384-well system, thereby avoiding the instrument compatibility issues introduced by 1536-well plates while still reducing sample usage. All plates are manufactured from virgin polystyrene resin, except for the black UV-Star® 384-Well Microplates, which is constructed of cycloolefin copolymer (COC) for better chemical resistance and detections in lower UV wavelengths. Wells feature conical geometry, in which wells have a round top and a flat bottom, resembling a truncated cone. Plates are compatible with microplate handling equipment and robotics.
LUMITRAC™ treatment is for luminescence assays, and FLUOTRAC™ treatment is for fluorescence assays. LoBase plates feature a chimney-like arrangement of wells in which each well stands on its own to reduce the possibility of cross-contamination. Chimney wells also feature individual rims that rise above the surface of the plate to aid in sealing by cap mat, thermal sealer, or adhesive sealer. LoBase plates are available with µClear® polystyrene microthin film bottom for clearer imaging or viewing and minimized autofluorescence. Plates are supplied without lids. The standard surface treated LoBase plates are supplied sterile. The black standard LoBase Plates is supplied with lid.
Plates are free of detectable RNase, DNase, human DNA, and pyrogens. All plates have a footprint conforming to the ANSI/SBS 1-2004 Standard.
