S2Media™ biplates with (1) TSA with 5% Sheep Blood and (2) MacConeky Agar. MacConkey Agar is recommended to isolate and differentiate lactose-fermenting from non-lactose fermenting gram-negative enteric bacilli. This formulation meets USP, EP and JP performance specification, as applicable. TSA with 5% Sheep Blood, also known as Blood Agar, is used to cultivate fastidious microorganisms. The addition of blood allows for visualization of hemolytic reactions, which aids differentiation of microbial species.
