The elevated skirt design lends rigidity, reducing warping and twisting, allows for 30% more plates per stack than full skirt, and provides convenient barcoding areas. The short well design optimizes assay conditions by reducing the distance between sample (in the well) and heated lid. By eliminating evaporation on the tube wall, PCR sample volumes are maintained, and the efficiency of the reaction is increased. This is especially important for low volume samples (<20ul). This plate works equally well for manual or automated protocols. Ultra-flat surfaces, large sidewall area, and rigidity optimize this plate for consistent automated handling with most robotic systems. Plate is easily oriented with corner notch and molded in alpha-numeric. Its ANSI/SLAS 1-2004 compliant footprint ensures that it will fit all standard fixtures, stackers, and other SBS compliant equipment.
