LB Luria Broth, Dry Media is powdered LB broth made according to the Luria formulation. The LB Luria formulation is used for the growth and maintenance of E. coli containing recombinant plasmids. This media is nutritionally rich, which allows for rapid growth.
The Luria formulation contains the least amount of sodium chloride of the LB formulations (Miller 1.0%, Lennox 0.5%, and Luria 0.05%). It can be used to optimize growth conditions by supplementing with additional sodium chloride.
Contains 1.0% (10 g/L) tryptone, 0.5% (5 g/L) yeast extract, and 0.05% (0.5 g/L) sodium chloride.
