Conn's Agar is recommended for cultivation of fungi. Potato starch and maltose are carbon sources and potassium nitrate is the source of nitrogen. Phosphate buffers the medium. Magnesium sulphate provides essential ions for the growth of fungi. Agar acts as solidifying agent.

  • Appearance: Cream to beige homogeneous free flowing powder
  • Gelling: Firm, comparable with 1.5% Agar gel
  • Color and Clarity of prepared medium: Light yellow colored, opaque gel forms in Petri plates
