Caulobacter Medium is recommended for cultivation of Caulobacter species. Caulobacter belongs to the group of dimorphic prosthecate bacteria (DPB) known to survive in dilute aquatic environment. This composition is as per Medium 28 being supplied by Pasteur Institute. It finds significance in polyhydroxybutyrate biosynthesis studies.
- Appearance: Cream to yellow homogeneous free flowing powder
- Gelling: Firm, comparable with 1.0% Agar gel
- Color and Clarity of prepared medium: Light to medium amber colored, clear to slightly opalescent gel forms in Petri plates
- Reaction of 1.30 w/v aqueous solution at 25°C. pH : 7.0±0.2
- M1661: Cultural characteristics observed after an incubation at 30-35°C for 4-7 days
