Students will determine the rate law for the reaction of crystal violet and sodium hydroxide. Students will also prepare dilutions of stock crystal violet solutions to generate a Beer’s law calibration curve. This lab will require students to integrate prior chemistry knowledge involving spectroscopy, Beer’s law, solution dilution, calibration curves, and chemical kinetics.
