FreeZone® Triad® Benchtop Freeze Dryers are designed for multiple types of lyophilization: flask, bulk and stoppering vials. Now with Lyo-Works™ OS the Triad is smarter than ever, making freeze drying even challenging samples easy.
Lyo-Works™ OS provides a real time display of collector temperature and vacuum level on a 5" full color, capacitive touch screen. Lyo-Works OS provides storage for up to 30 programs that can hold up to 16 steps each. Display includes navigation to start-up mode, vacuum set point, alerts, diagnostic tests, user manual, and defrost control. Data logging stores and displays data in table or chart format and data may be exported via the side-mounted USB or rear-mounted Ethernet connection. Language can be set to English, Spanish, French, German or Italian. Other settings include time, time zone, temperature (°C or °F) and vacuum (mBar, Torr or Pa). Alerts and feedback of current operating programs can be sent automatically to user-entered email addresses for remote notification even when away from the lab.
The upright stainless steel collector coil holds 2.5 liters of ice before defrosting. Two 1/3 hp HCFC/CFC-free refrigeration compressors cool the collector to -85°C (-121°F), suitable for aqueous or dilute acetonitrile samples. Temperature-controlled shelves range from -55°C to +50°C (-67°F to +122°F) and a maximum of -75°C (-103°F) during pre-freezing. The shelves provide pneumatic stoppering with a diaphragm, eliminating the need for compressed gas. The space between the processing shelf and top of chamber accommodates containers with stoppers up to 148 mm maximum height. Other triad features include a Pirani vacuum sensor and four valve ports for flasks.
FreeZone exclusive features protect the vacuum pump from damage. A vacuum break valve bleeds air into the system when power to the freeze dryer or vacuum pump is shut off for more than 5 minutes so moisture from the melting samples does not end up in the pump. If the vacuum level is higher than 5 mBar for 30 minutes, the vacuum pump will automatically turn off, preventing pump damage.
Vacuum pump with a displacement of at least 98 liters/minute and freeze dry glassware (if not bulk freeze drying) are required (not included).
