Nuclease and Endotoxin-Free, Sterile
DEPC-treated water is certified nuclease-free and supplied in four bottles containing 1 L each to ensure sterility and inactivation of DEPC. It is rigorously tested for contaminating nonspecific endonuclease, exonuclease, and RNase activity, protease.
DEPC-Treated Water is Ultra Pure and prepared by reverse osmosis, passed through fine carbon, de-ionized through two resin beds and serially filtered 1µm positively charged membranes. The water is subsequently treated with 0.1% (v/v) DEPC (Diethylpyrocarbonate) and incubated and heated overnight at 37°C. Finally, DEPC-Treated Water is filtered through a 0.1µm filter.
Produced under high quality industry standards to ensure superior results.
Applications
DEPC-Treated Water can be used to reconstitute nucleic acids and/or proteins. In addition, it can be used as a diluent or solvent for any molecular biology grade reagent. The following are three examples of situations where DEPC-Treated Water may be usefully employed:
- RNA Applications (e.g., Preparations of an RNA probe)
- DNA Applications (e.g., Subcloning in pUC plasmids)
- Protein Applications (e.g., Western Blotting)
