Buffered Peptone Water is rich in nutrients and produces high resuscitation rates for sub lethally injured bacteria and intense growth. The phosphate buffer system prevents bacterial damage caused by changes in the pH of the medium. Peptone including enzymatic digest of casein acts as a source of carbon, nitrogen, vitamins and minerals whilst sodium chloride maintains the osmotic balance.GranuCult(R) is our new brand name for our existing granulated dehydrated culture media which apply to new EN ISO 11133:2014 and various other ISO standards and FDA-BAM / USDA-FSIS methods for testing of food and water samples. Application: Buffered Peptone Water is used in the testing of food and water samples. This product is suitable for the preliminary non selective enrichment of bacteria, particularly pathogenic Enterobacteriaceae such as Salmonella and Cronobacter, from food, animal feed, water, and other materials. The product is also suitable as a diluent for general use.
