Newborn Bovine Serum (NBS) is useful in a wide range of cell culture and organ preservation applications. For example, it is used in cornea preservation and cryopreservation of bovine embryos. NBS is used in cell culture to support the maturation of oocytes, to study the function of tubular epithelial cells, and to develop primary cultures of cells such as visceral adipocytes.
This serum is produced from blood collected from newly born calves between 1-14 days of age.
