SimPlate for Total Coliform & E. coli Color Indicator (CEc-CI) method is used for the detection and quantification of the Total Coliform and E. coli populations. It is based on Binary Detection Technology (BDT) which equates the presence of Total Coliform to the presence of a color change in a medium and E. coli is detected by the presence of a blue fluorescent color change in the medium due to the action of the enzyme and Beta-glucuronidase. The medium/sample mixture is dispensed into a SimPlate device, and incubated for 24-28 h. The Total Coliform and E. coli count is determined by counting the wells with changed color and referring to the SimPlate Conversion Table. Colored wells indicate the presence of Total Coliforms, and colored wells that fluoresce indicate the presence of E. coli. The SimPlate device is packaged separately.
