Application: Sodium tetraborate (Na2B4O7) can be used as a co-catalyst for the oxidation of alcohols to corresponding carbonyl compounds in greener non-chlorinated solvents in the presence of TEMPO/NaOCl. It is also used as a structure-directing agent as well as a catalyst in the preparation of carbon aerogels using glucose as the carbon precursor.
