Tubulin a 100kD protein is present in all cells as a heterodimer of two similar polypeptides a and ß which assemble to form microtubules. Proper organization of microtubules is essential for several cellular functions like mitosis, meiosis, some forms of organellar movement, intracellular transport, flagellar movement and cytoskeletal functions. Monoclonal anti-ß-tubulin I antibody can be used in ELISA to localize ß tubulin isotype I and can be used in immunoblotting to localize cultured human and animal cells. Mouse anti-ß-tubulin I antibody reacts specifically with an epitope found in the c-terminal sequence of ß tubulin of human, rat, dog, bovine, hamster, mouse, chicken and xenopus
