HSC-T6 Rat Hepatic Stellate Cell Line The HSC-T6 rat hepatic stellate cell line is a valuable cell model for studies of retinoid metabolism based on their similar retinoid phenotype as primary cells.

Not yet rated

Hepatocytes and hepatic stellate cells play important roles in retinoid uptake, storage, mobilization and metabolism. Hepatic stellate cells represent only 5-7% of the total cells present in the liver. Isolation of primary stellate cells is thus time-consuming and often accompanied by low yields and considerable lot-to-lot variations. HSC-T6 Rat Hepatic Stellate Cell Line is an immortalized line isolated from SV40 large T-antigen transformed primary stellate cells of male Sprague-Dawley retired breeder rats. HSC-T6 Rat Hepatic Stellate Cell line is a useful model for the study of hepatic retinoid storage and metabolism.

Synonyms: HSC, Perisinusoidal cells, Ito cells, Hepatic lipocytes, Hepatic pericytes
