MGB Alert® B. pertussis / Parapertussis Primers

Early symptoms of pertussis are similar to a common cold, however, later stages can be life threatening. Vaccinated individuals may still get sick, but with milder symptoms.¹ The MGB Alert Bordetella P/PP primer mix ASR ^§ amplifies, while the probe mix ASR detects, nucleic acids within the IS481 and IS1001 repeat regions of Bordetella pertussis and B. parapertussis. Melt curve analysis discriminates the two species.
