General description: Autophagy is a catabolic process by which cell delivers cytoplasmic constituent into lysosome for protein degradation. 16 ATG genes are essential for autophagosome preparation out of which Atg7 is the one required to activate ubiquitin-like proteins Atg12 and Atg8. Atg7 is also crucial for amino acid supply in neonates, as well as for bulk degradation of proteins and organelles in mice during starvation. Anti-ATG7 antibody can be used in immunohistochemistry and immunoprecipitation. Rabbit anti-ATG7 antibody reacts specifically with Atg7 of human, mouse and rat.
Application: Rabbit anti-ATG7 antibody was used for immunohistochemistry on sections of mouse midbrain fixed in 4% paraformaldehyde at 1:2000.
Application: Rabbit anti-ATG7 antibody has been used for immunoblotting assays. The antibody is also suitable for use in immunoprecipitation applications at 1-2μL using human U87 cell lysates.
Application: Anti-ATG7 antibody can be used in western blotting and immunoblotting.
Immunogen: synthetic peptide corresponding to amino acids 38-50 of human ATG7, conjugated to KLH via a C-terminal cysteine residue. The corresponding sequence is identical in mouse and rat.
Physical form: Solution in 0.01 M phosphate buffered saline, pH 7.4, containing 15 mM sodium azide.
RIDADR: NONH for all modes of transport
