Background
Pneumocystis jiroveci pneumonia is an infection of the lungs. The disease used to be called Pneumocystis carini or PCP pneumonia. The infection typically affects immunocompromised systems. It is an extracellular fungal infection. Transmission seems to be through inhalation.

Anti-Pneumocystis Carinii (MOUSE) Monoclonal Antibody was tested in IHC-P with positive control infected lung tissues. Cellular Localization: Alveolar spaces. The user is advised to validate the use of the products with their tissue specimens prepared and handled in accordance with their laboratory practices.
