Description: Purified Staphylococcus aureus delta hemolysin (delta toxin; Hld).
Size: 100 µg is supplied in phosphate buffered saline at a concentration of 0.729 mg/mL.
Relevance: δ-Toxin is produced by S. aureus and is translated from the RNAIII transcript, a key player of the staphylococcal quorum sensing system (agr). δ- Toxin is a major virulence factor of S. aureus and primarily causes cytolysis in red and white blood cells.
Recommended Dilutions:
ELISA: Assay-dependent dilution.
WB: Not recommended for this peptide.
Cytotoxicity assay: The peptide is active in functional lysis assays with horse red blood cells, as well as human peripheral mononuclear cells. The peptide can be also used in serology assay as coating antigen to detect antibodies to Hld.
