Valve cover is made of Polypro plastic and shaped into half-moons to completely cover the valve wheel. Lockout can be modified to fit smaller valves by drilling a hole aligned with the first and then closing the lockout to completely cover the valve. Cover is fully dielectric and resistant to cracking and abrasion. Plastic will not crack under extreme temperature changes, from –45.5 to 182°C (–50 to 360°F).
Red valves should be used to indicate fire-quenching materials such as halon. Yellow valves indicate materials that are inherently hazardous, such as propane gas. Blue valves are used for cases of inherently low hazard, such as argon. Green valves should be used to indicate liquids of inherently low hazard, such as mill water.
