MOPS is a zwitterionic buffer ideally suited for RNA electrophoresis in agarose gels. Having a buffering range from 6.5 - 7.9, MOPS works exceptionally well in formaldehyde gels at a concentration of 20nM. DEPC is added to ensure the buffer is nuclease contamination free. Use sterile water to dilute 10X solution. Store at room temperature.
To Produce 1X MOPS Solution (0.2M): Simply Add 4.18gm of MOPS to 1L of Sterilized Water.
To Produce 10X MOPS Solution (0.2M): Simply Add 41.8gm of MOPS to 1L of Sterilized Water.
