Deploy IPTG in blue/white selection assays to detect ß-galactosidase activity
Used in combination with X-gal to detect ß-galactosidase activity in blue/white selection assays.
Can induce protein expression when used with a number of derivatives including DE3-derivatives and DE3 pLysS-derivatives.
Provided in powder form for ease-of-use.
Improve colony screening, when using the relevant vectors.
Isopropyl-ß-D-thiogalactoside (IPTG) is used in combination with X-gal to detect ß-galactosidase activity in blue/white selection assays. When the appropriate vectors are used, blue white screening is an important tool for screening and selecting relevant colonies.
IPTG can induce protein expression when used with a number of derivatives including DE3-derivatives and DE3 pLysS-derivatives. IPTG is provided in powder form and may only be used in research applications.
