Standard Methods Agar (SMA) is used for obtaining microbial plate counts from milk and dairy products, water and other materials of sanitary importance.

Pseudomonas Isolation Agar (PIA) is a selective medium for the isolation of Pseudomonas and differentiating Pseudomonas aeruginosa from other pseudomonads on the basis of pigment formation.

m-Endo Agar LES is a Standard Methods Medium used for the enumeration of coliform organisms in water by the membrane filtration method.

Recommended for isolation and enumeration of yeasts and mould from milk and milk products.

Tryptic Soy Agar is recommended for the general cultivation of a wide variety of microorganisms. Tryptic Soy Agar conforms to the formula specified in the US Pharmacopoeia, USP. Northeast Laboratory Services offers a wide range of Tryptic Soy Agar available in petri dish, tube and bottle.

This media is used for detection of heterotrophic bacteria in water, especially treated water. R2A Medium can be used as a pour plate, spread plate or membrane filter media as a subculture medium.

Nutrient Agar w/ MUG is used to confirm the presence of E. coli in water. Whether this confirmation is considered “final” or “presumptive” will depend on the applicable guidelines and sample source of the test.
