Gentamicin efficiently inhibits growth of many Gram-positive and Gram-negative microorganisms. It does so by inhibiting protein synthesis by binding to the L6 protein of the 30S ribosomal subunit. It is also effective against mycoplasma. Recommended for use in cell culture applications.
